After spending about three weeks in the Hartford Correctional Center because nobody could pay the ridiculous $60,000 bail to get him out, someone eventually did. A bonding company called Budget Bail Bonds LLC posted the necessary money to get Armstrong out.
Again, if you haven’t read ‘Sex and Teens: The Law is Hypocritical’ I would suggest doing so and feel free to comment and argue my opinions regarding it.
But Armstrong was caught when his girlfriend had called him late to pick her up and her step-father reported her missing. Armstrong and his girlfriend had consensual sex in Armstrong’s bed and apparently were investigated for that. Now Armstrong is waiting to appear in front of the Supreme Court regarding this matter. He is scheduled to appear on October 31.
But it looks like Connecticut has the age of consent of 16-years-old, and a person who has consensual sex with someone under 16 can be charged with sexual assault, also known as statutory rape.
So to reiterate from ‘Sex and Teens: The Law is Hypocritical’, Connecticut is the same state that hands out birth control pills to high school kids and middle school kids, with parents approval, in addition, the same state where 15-year-old girls can get abortions without their parents consent.
Is it just me, or those two laws are somewhat contradicting? Or maybe hypocritical?
