It seems that every five years, Beijing, China, welcomes Communist Party Leaders to the National People’s Congress in which they touch on various national issues, pass new laws and new leaders are promoted through the ranks. Though, weeks before the NPC, Chinese government has banned any sexually explicit content from airing on television.
Again, this has nothing to do with banning nudity. This bans such things as television advertisements that feature push-up bras, shape-enhancing underwear and contraceptives.
“Commercials containing sexually provocative sounds or tantalizing language as well as vulgar advertisements for breast enhancement and female underwear are banned, effective immediately,” states The State Administration of Radio, Film and Television.
Well, if you guys pay attention (people not from China) than you should know that Chinese government are very strict about their policies. I mean, they banned Rush Hour 3 from being screened there.
Of course, potential ‘sexual’ advertisements aren’t the only things getting banned from television. It seems as though beauty makeover reality shows are getting pulled. Before that, within the last month, there were 11 radio shows that were banned for addressing sexual material of “extreme pornographic nature.”
One of the main reasons they are banning all these sexually explicit broadcasts is the fact that people do not follow the rules and they feel this will help the cause in the world of media.
On the other hand, with internet, people are downloading sexual content all the time.
