I know a lot of people have asked someone, "How many people have you had sex with before?" Cause we want to know. Well, at least some of us do. The others could care less or are too scared to find out the real answer is about 138. But even if you never asked, in the back of your mind, you probably do want to know. Cause when it comes down to it, some people may base a relationship on that answer.
I'm not going to lie. When I was younger, I had these discussions with my boys. We used to have this mindset like "I'm not sure if I can be with a person that's slept with more than 10 people." Eventually, the number kept decreasing. Why? Well, there's plenty of reasons behind that but let's say we didn't want to be compared... and end up being the worse lover. Haha.
I'm sure there's been plenty of men and women that's been with double-digit sex partners before. Some call that 'experienced' and some may just call that plain 'nasty!' But whatever you want to call it, the average man does sleep with seven women in their lifetime, according to a survey from the National Center for Health Statistics. Don't believe me? Look it up. I'm too lazy to make up stuff like this.
Now, let's not leave out women and their sex partners. They say an average woman has about four sex partners in their lifetime. Why is that number less? Who knows. But that's just the average, so don't think the woman standing right next to you has only been with 4 or less.
I'm not saying sleeping with more people is bad, but at the same time, I'm not saying it's good. If you take precautions and protect from STDs, then that's a good thing. But I guess the more sex partners you have, the more risk you'd be taking. Right?
But let me give you some stats cause we know damn well you won't believe me if I don't show some sort of proof. According to the National Center for Health Statistics survey, in which they interviewed 6,237 adults, aged 20 to 59:
- 29 percent of American men report having 15 or more female sexual partners in a lifetime, while only 9 percent of women report having sex with 15 or more men
- 11 percent of never-married adults had remained chaste
- About 96 percent of U.S. adults have had sex
- Sixteen percent of adults first had sex before age 15, while 15 percent abstained from sex until at least age 21
- Seventeen percent of men and 10 percent of women reported having two or more sexual partners in the past year
- Twenty-five percent of women and 17 percent of men reporting having no more than one partner of the other sex in their lifetime
These stats were actually taken from data collected between the years of 1999 and 2002, but it was just recently released.
So, the average man sleeps with seven women, and average woman sleeps with four men. I'll bet anyone that the average number will increase, maybe drastically, if we had a survey with updated stats.
Anyone? Well, I'm not going to do the survey, but I'm taking bets as we speak!
